Dirt would win that one handily. I would put Dirt up against Bleach or Ten instead.

I think Dirt is the best album to come out of that era, but I always had a soft spot for Core. I really liked 'Purple' as well, but that's the last album before the soft poppy shit for which STP became.

I like Dirt, but I think it's a little too heavy on the Sabbath worship at times.

My favs:

1 Riot Act
2 No Code
3 Vitalogy
4 Ten
5 Vs.
6 Yield
7 Binaural

the funny thing is, your last 3 are probably my faves. Maybe substitute Binaural with No Code.

Go back to your electronic cave where you belong.

Seriously, I just find my top three picks more interesting/creative...the others just seem a bit too pop/generic for my tastes. I do like Vs. though, it's probably tied w/ Ten, actually...but I had to put it somewhere in the list.

i know i'm a giant SG fanboy but seriously badmotorfinger pretty much owns everything else from that early era of grunge. dirt, core, ten, nevermind, whatever... badmotorfinger tops my pile of early 90s rock.
