Maybe making experimental music that was good could be quite a bit more difficult.

I did mean making good Experimental. I dunno about Classical, I do think my question is more of an opinion. I find Classical easy to make, I have Classical stuff I come up with in my head, I should put it on guitar sometime.

This just might have become the most absurd post on RM. This is even surpasses Rishijin's comments about Django.

P.S. Pick up one of these and then get back to Satchmo about how easy anything is.

Does anyone else get worried that we're the minority?

Minority, yes, but I don't worry about it.

If you meant we're a minority by enjoying quality music, then of course.

Well in my limited experience electronic music is pretty god damn hard to make, sometimes it can take a lot of work to make even the simplest sound. Then again I've only been doing it for a few years and I still have a lot to learn and I guess it'll come easier as I get a more full understanding of the programs I use and the programs I want to learn.

For me though, making electronic music is a lot different than playing an instrument in a band or something. It works for me though because I don't want to play an instrument and limit myself to the sounds of that instrument (or instruments). I don't have the patience or the attention span to use actual instruments either. I've tried lots of instruments for a long time and I always end up learning a little on one and then picking up another. The guitar is the only instrument I've held onto playing but I only play it on occasion and when I do I put it in the context of my electronic stuff anyway. So I prefer to be able to design my own sounds and to have literally infinite possibilities. I can jump from sound to sound as I please which I like. In my opinion it's one thing to play an instrument, even if you're extremely good at it it's much different to control every aspect of a piece of music whether it seems simple or complex.

Not that this has anything to do with the topic but it also sucks that music is the love of my life and I work on it constantly always trying to get better but no one ever looks at me like I'm a musician at all simply because I don't make music that everyone is into. But why the fuck should I care, fuck em!

Really? I find electronic music the easiest to make, because I just input some notes, program the drums, tweak a bunch of knobs and I'm solid.

I guess it depends on what you're trying to make. The type of music I make (am trying to make) is really rhythmically complex so the drum samples alone take a hell of a lot of work. If you listen to my song Penumbra you'd see what I mean (as far as the drums go).

I have posted this a few times....
