ok, so im not that big on the christian stuff with them but i like most of the old stuff they did. newer creed before they broke up was pretty bad and the new cs stuff isnt that great...too poppy...but in the early years they were both really good.
who do you think is best? i think cs wrote some of the best melodies from the 90s, they really knew how to write great songs...and ross has to be the best rock guitarist ever..ok, well, hes my favorte anyway
creeds first cd really rocked...my own prison etc...but for me its all about the csoul.
Collective Soul was mediocre at best. Creed is tarred with the same brush as at least half a dozen other bands. If in a pinch (ie, a gun was held to my wife's head), I would choose Collective Soul.
I've said before, I still think the riff to 'Shine' is pretty cool.
Hm. Now that I would actually vote, it's not even a poll. And I do have a Collective Soul song on my external hard disk, Better now. I think it's a cover though.

have you even heard a whole cd? listen to disciplined breakdown, i think youd be surprised. i dont know how you can call a band that writes such emotional songs with great vocal harmonies, fantastic lyrics, awesome guitar playing, etc mediocre. yeah, they make catchy songs...well thats hard too do! and every one of their songs are catchy and theyre interesting too. and none of them sound alike, like most bands.
really theyre like the perfect mix of heavy hard rock riffs with soft harmonies...the guitars too, 3 players so they layer a lot. theres lots of subtle things to listen to in their songs, its not all just blaring loud screaming like a lot of music. they just want to write great songs and they do.

Disciplined Breakdown is likely the least interesting of their early releases.

I'm calling a truce.
Here. Here's my peace offering, something we both can enjoy. If you don't get the parallel, stick around a while or ask around.
heavy riffs and great melodies and harmonies...classic CS. yeah!
This is actually how I'd describe 80s rock. Hm. Have you ever tried Whitesnake?

If you're going to continue with these polls of such inferior groups....put a "none of the above" option and you will get results. Not the results you want, but in a Democracy you don't always get the results you want.
