He...Who Drops Knowledge
|
If you're interested about Moldy Fig....as in, you're amazingly close-minded and stuck in the past.
You post and act like someone who is 12 to 16....which is why most of us have a hard time believing you're really 21.
Besides being childish for someone claiming to be 21, your response of "whatever" to those who disagree with you....is no different than young Grasshoppa Geryon's previous use of erf....except, he was 13 back when he was doing it. At one time, he was just like you....but he has generally grown up and realized you can't be a child all your life. It's also just confirms how close-minded you happen to be.
You make fun of today's MTV fans, but you're just an older version of them.
What your current age has to do with your knowledge of music from the past is meaningless. There are many members who are fans of composers/musicians/bands who they were not even alive at the time they composed/performed/recorded. Grasshoppa Geryon for one is now 16....and probably knows more than a good many people twice or three times his age. Grasshoppa jazzfromhell is 17 and is no different.
If you want to be close-minded that's your right, but at least attempt to provide some sort of response besides "whatever" and the other things you have posted when questioned or responded too. If you really can't provide an argument to back your opinions besides "whatever" and the rest....you just might want to reconsider your opinions.
Another possibility for you....is the MTV BB where you can "whatever" to your heart's desire and fit right in; however, if you want to learn and expand your horizons (and that's not limited to music)....you will find a great deal of knowledgeable members on this board who would be glad to be of help.
P.S. You might also want to look up the word "sarcasm".....and then, you might catch on that those appearing to agree with you....are just mocking you. At the moment, you're something new for them to play with....and honestly....that's become childish, as well.
P.P.S. You might also try to consider just what "Radiomute" means.

To bring Satchmo's argument full circle:
A moldy fig, technically, is a 1920s term to mean a jazz purist, or rather, a person who holds a certain disdain for the inevitable shift in the qualities of jazz over time.
OF COURSE, there are no Jazz connotations to the reference made towards you, and you don't seem to be a fan of jazz, so I am assuming that Satchmo means that you are unwilling to let go of your self-righteous musical taste to look out and appreciate the past and future of your simple-minded decade of rock.
You sir, are a moldy fig.
And for those wondering, my information comes from Wikipedia, so I apologize for any inaccuracies with the above.

Oh, also, your username is befitting of your current attitude.
If you are truly interested in a broad horizon of new and old music, do ask, and quickly before all hope is lost!

I used to thing RATM might not be bad if they had a different singer, but then I heard Audioslave, and that theory just went right out the window

I think if RATM had anyone else sing for them, it'd be a travesty.
