there was one single that had matt leblanc (joey from friends) in the video. i can't be bothered to try remembering anything else from that era though.

Oh, yeah!

I do remember some lyrics like 'never too hot, never too cold' or some shit like that. I think the album had a Canada-only release and is now out of print. I believe the same is true for her second one, though I believe that one opened to a wider US market.

What were those albums like? With drum machines and heavy keyboards and all?
And Joey from Friends was on there too? LOL! I always suspected him to be one of those ex-New Kids On The Block type of guys.

Here you go. Egads!

And another with Joey, this time with Princess Vespa (not an Alanis vid though):

So Alanis was once on the Paula Abdul bandwagon? Anyway, I'm gonna get myself Too Hot. The other song blows.
And Seger has had far better tunes.

I remember when those tunes came out. I wasn't really into music much then but I was mostly getting things like Jim Reeves and Sam Cooke from the Old Man, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino from Mum, The Who and David Bowie from my sis, and Van Halen and The Tragically Hip from my bro, so I knew that I didn't really dig this Alanis chick. When 'You Oughta Know' came out everyone in Canada went "What the fuck?!" Few Americans and even fewer Europeans knew who she was and suddenly for Canadians she went from bouncy-big hair-bubblegum-Paula Abdul-shitty-early 90s-pop to telling some dude (Dave Coulier?) to go fuck himself. Nothing happens in Canada so it was quite shocking. I remember going to school and 'You Oughta Know' was playing on the bus radio and everyone was debating if it was the same Alanis.

Team Rancho has been here for how many years and his big take-away is "Alanis"?

You really should check out the Film thread and/or other threads more often. T-R has been going through an awakening of sorts over the years. Although, I still don't believe he's been as asleep behind the wheel as his "full" T-R persona made it appear.
