well, ok i put it in the punk section but i really just think of them as another alternative band. i mean all the 90s alternative bands were inspired by punk so i dont know why green day gets so much shit.
Rather than just knock your taste though I'll give you a suggestion.

I guess they were a musical inevitability once Hüsker Dü broke up.
I do admit to liking a lot of songs on Dookie, however. One of a handful of pop-punk bands that are listenable.
