It consists of what is known as Miles' Second Quintet.
Miles Davis
Wayne Shorter - saxophone
Tony Williams - drums
Herbie Hancock - piano
Ron Carter - bass
The First Quintet is the one with Coltrane....although, it didn't have a definitive a set of musicians as the Second did; however, Coltrane was present.
For example, just on the piano you had....
Red Garland
Wynton Kelly
Bill Evans
You can get 3 box sets which will cover both Quintets studio recordings.
First Quintet

(This was mentioned on that list, as well.)http://www.amazon.com/Legendary-Pres...4648220&sr=1-1

Second Quintet....and this will include Miles Smiles

The good about all the above is there all in one box for each label and/or period. The only negative is that the chronological order of the tracks instead of in the order as was released for the records back in the day. You could program the cd player to put them in the proper order.
Now an ESSENTIAL live box set would be this one with his Second Quintet.

Now, if you want the individual recordings....you can easily look up each of these box sets on AllMusic and find out which individual recordings make them up....not counting the live set.
