This forum has nothing more to say about this genre. While there never were that many contributors in this sub-forum, this is an all-time low.

Is it because of...

A) Current state of this genre?
B) Number of active posters?


Personally, I haven't been following very much rap/hiphop, as I am currently in a Metal/Avant-Garde phase.

it's like the old pop forum that used to exist back in the day (speaking of something TR could mod ). i think the issue with the rap forum is that most of the new posters come from a strictly commercial background (and wouldn't catch the zappa ref). it's not that they would be bad members but they usually either get scared off by regulars tearing them new ones on their first threads (i guess i'll be sorry for some occasions), or they just read a few of the other busy threads and get freaked out and bail (probably for the best hehehe).

To answer the question....mostly the quality of what is being released isn't really good enough to start threads....and I think new posters are afraid of T-R wanting to challenge them to a MC battle.
