Velvet Revolver
What do you think of them? I could honestly say I like them more than I like Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion albums. But other than that I like Guns N' Roses more.

Reminds me of Van Hagar....which was Sammy with a lot better back-up band.
I never cared for Van Hagar, myself.
In each case....generic arena rock.
P.S. Take out all the filler on each of the Use Your Illusions and you have one good record.

I know but even the good songs aren't as good as any of the ones on Appetite For Destruction.

Cannot agree...
Velvet Revolver are just lame. Sorry. I never really liked Slash's Snakepit either, BTW.
GnR Illusion era had lots of filler, but also many great songs. "You could be mine" burns all Apppetite era songs. As far as I've heard the idea was to release anything Axl & crew had written since Lies on CD, to shell out as many albums as possible, since even blank CDs with GnR logos on it would've made #1 back in '91. And, as all other GnR albums, the Illusion project had already been several years behind schedule.
Van Hagar was great. However I felt that some (or many) songs were actually meant for bands like Whitesnake or Europe, which of course IMO were also great. Too bad that Van Hagar also equaled the end of Van Roth, which suited Eddie much better. That being said, F.U.C.K. is a fantastic album in it's own right, my second-favourite VH album.

So Scott "Keep a place in Rehab open for me" Weiland quit and/or was fired and is getting back together with Stone Temple Pilots. That is until the next time he goes into rehab, quits and/or was fired.

The guy from Stone Temple Copycats is the singer, and I stopped paying attention as soon as I heard that. Never heard a song or even the rest of the lineup.

The guy from the STP copycats (and not sure who that might be) is singing for whom? Because, as I understand it Mr. Revolving Rehab will be part of the reunion.

Ok, now you have me confused.
Just to recap....
Mr. Revolving Rehab aka Scott Weiland quit in the middle of their concert on March 20, 2008. The band claims he was fired.
Mr. Revolving Rehab and the rest of the band have been taking shots at the each other ever since in the media and/or online.
Mr. Revolving Rehab will be part of the STP reunion. It will be officially announced on April 7th.
end of recap....
This is your friendly reporter Satchmo signing off.

any rumours on who's going to fill weiland's spot? i'm thinking slash and the guys should get todd kearns to fill out their line up. he fronted 'the age of electric' for the better part of the 90s up here, he connects the dots as well as they do and i believe he auditioned for slash and the guys when they were looking for weiland the first time around. dude isn't a junkie and he can play guitar too. tAoC was way cooler than STP.
