Ed rules. Guitarwise anyway.

I always forget to include Jack Bruce among my favorite rock vocalists. Shame, 'cause he really is amazing.

I'd say he keeps better musical company than ever in that video you posted. Even if he was boring as hell. That's definitely Steve Gadd on drums (playing with four sticks), and I'm not sure but that guitarist makes me think of Kevin Eubanks. If anything, Eric should be supporting Kevin.

Yeah, that's Gadd. He's been with Clapton for quite a few years now. A fine drummer, his work with Traffic is highly listenable. And we can't forget '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.'
It certainly is a boring performance, but then again, it's a boring song. Although, I agree, the band is tight.

i gotta say that cream clip is ace from an aural perspective but holy crap did the visual direction ever miss its mark. seriously, what director in his right mind chooses to focus on the bass player's hand when the guitar player kicks into his solo? the ONLY spot where you can see clapton actually playing anything is a bend and vibrato... FROM BEHIND. booo

Yeah, I posted it more for the musical quality. I find there's very little nice footage of Cream performing.

Native American blues-rock group Indigenous' Mato Nanji deserves mention, for those who've heard him, anyway. He's a wonderful player, who's style is, perhaps unfortunatly, similar to Stevie Ray Vaughn.
SRV has to be considered, as well as, IMO, Leslie West of Mountain.
But picking one top favorite out of those I've mentioned, as well as a few others, isn't really something I can do. It depends on what day of the week it is, really, if you know what I mean.

No doubt. Steve Lukather is so often overlooked when ppl discuss great guitar players...it's a shame.
