I always imagine Alanis on a slowly sinking ship in the middle of an ocean, totally freaking out and screaming her lungs out for help (in vain, of course), and the last thing she hears is that stupid song being aired on the radio, the DJ saying something like "boy isn't that a great song!", hehe.

that wouldn't cut it. she's already risen from death a few times. give her another decade and i'm sure she'll be back on the charts as a more mature singer songwriter type. she's already done the teen starlet thing and the pissed off alterna rock grrrl thing it just a matter of time (especially considering the cancon laws)

I might change my mind about her if she initiated a big time glam metal boom.

Yeah, I think Alanis is going to prove to be quite a diligent cockroach indeed. Wasn't her head chopped off about five years ago?

yeah avril lavinge took alanis' spot as the 'canadian rock girl' about 5 years back. i'm predicting a baby then a suicide inducing co-headlining tour with sarah mclaughlin (yes, she has a great voice but it doesn't make her music any more tolerable to my ears)
if nothing else at least we'll always have wesley willis' tribute to alanis
