Garageband help

Okay I am having some major trouble getting my Korg X50 to input sounds into garageband. I have my MIDI-USB cable hooked up and I installed the driver from Korg's website, however it does not recognize it as able to input anything. I went into the utilities and dug up the midi setup program and it says input is not supported. Can someone please enlighten me to as why this thing isn't working? I am seriously starting to get annoyed by this. -_-

Also don't get the impression that the computer isn't recognizing the synth at all, because it is. It clearly shows X50 as a midi device in the setup, it just can't input anything. If anyone has experience with the synth and garageband I would REALLY appreciate it.

Are you trying to record the Korg's synth patches as audio into Garageband or use the Korg as a MIDI controller to drive Garageband's internal synths? If it's the former, you'll need an audio interface of some sort, or if your soundcard has an audio input, to record the audio output of your synth onto a Garageband track. As is, your MIDI cable isn't going to do anything but send MIDI note data to Garageband, and without any synth to send it to, you're not going to hear anything. You'd have to add a Garageband instrument and set it's input to the Korg controller.
