If you can get a used PRS SE series that would put you way above any Epiphone, Yamaha or Squire people can recommend.

I broke down, paid a few more dollars, and got a White Telecaster...

Thanks for the help, folks!

that's a pretty big if considering any PRS guitar i've seen for sale in any store has always been well over $1000.

The PRS SE series is their more affordable line. I've seen them used for as low as $250. New they are around 400-800

I just laughed so hard that I think my heart skipped a couple beats. Thankfully, I wasn't drinking any Single Malt or liquids....it could have been painful.

Just in case you're not joking....they're different Telecaster models made by Fender....they're the budget line versions. One is made in Mexico (I will let you guess which one) and these days the other one is made in China .

P.S. If you're wondering....Page used a 1958 Telecaster. They only made 5,000 of them that year.

Well, I don't know much about guitars. I don't have research behind me. And I thought of Squire because there is Squire that does copies of Fender greats for cheaper. Or something.

I don't know where mine was made. I just know I like how it sounds, and it says Fender along the headstock.
