Upcoming Live Shows...
Okay, I couldn't find a general thread like this without going to a specific genre forum, so I made this.
Like I mentioned in the Jazz thread, the Rashied Ali Quintet is coming for the Savannah Jazz Festival on the 29th.
Also, somehow, I'm thinking of actually going out and driving for longer than an hour... 3-4 hours in fact...to see some live performances of living, breathing musicians in person...
No guarantees, but I'm thinking about it. For $7, it sounds pretty good.

You not only leaving the house but have to drive up to 4 hours? I will believe that if/when it actually happens!

Well now I'm having car problems, so it may not happen.
But, we'll see.
Obviously, I'm shooting for the shows on the 14th and 15th now...which are the dates with Makoto anyway.

I was expecting some sort of "my dog ate the report" excuse....but not this soon.

Well, the weekend of October 26-28 is basically set to be the best of my concert-going life.
Friday, October 26th - Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at the Oracle Arena in Oakland
Saturday, October 27th - Bridge School Benefit at the Shoreline in Mountain View
Folks I know:
Tom Waits with the Kronos Quartet
Jerry Lee Lewis
Neil Young
Eddie Vedder with Flea and Jack Irons
Metallica
John Mayer (not really a fan of any of his work, but if it's the blues stuff, it'll at least be listenable)
Folks I don't know:
Regina Spektor
Tegan & Sara
Sunday, October 28th - Ornette freaking Coleman at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco
Not gonna lie, I'm excited.
