Yeah the fact that I like early Pat Benatar tends to throw people, but I don't know why. They see my collection of rock/new wave albums from a similar time and freak out when they see Crimes of Passion and Precious Time CD's, even as they reach for my CD player to put on Blondie or the Police. Anything after that I am not as much a fan, although I do like scattered songs. What's interesting is that I pretty much ignored her for about 10 years until about a month ago.

I get the same reaction when they stumble into my CD's of the first two Cars albums, as well...

I've been known to like Linkin Park, as regretful I am of that fact. And Blink 182 on occasion.
I also like Styx and The Cars (but I see no problem with blasting The Cars).

I saw them on that tour

Back then my Dad used to take us to at least one show a year, and this was one of those. Wang Chung opened up and people kept yelling "WANGER!" over and over. Good times, good times.

People aren't usually as surprised about the Cars, probably because at some point an executive decided they were "Classic Rock" and now I guess it's okay to like them. But I still get a few eyebrows raised (the Benatar CD's get me laughed at until I threaten to put them on). Many years later I can't say they get more than occasional play, but I still think their first album was excellent all the way through and two others, Candy-O and Heartbeat City, were very good. Ric Ocasek was a solid popcrafter, if a bit aloof onstage, and Ben Orr (RIP) was a great frontline vocalist as well. The band was not necessarily spectacular, but highly competent.

Man that sounds cool...

I haven't any of their first 4 albums completely, I only know a few songs from the Greatest Hits, but they sound a bit too punky for my. "My best friend's girl" and "Shake it up" are actually the only pre Heartbeat City songs I really like. Heartbeat City really is a great album IMO. Love the production and the general 1984-feeling about it! Fav song though is "Tonight she comes" from the Greatest Hits, one of my all time fav solos too. Their guitar work was cool anyway.

And they had some strange videos, hehe.

Until yesterday I forgot all about The Doors. Yes, I actually enjoy listening to them. Don't care that much for their music except the funny keyboards, but I just love hearing Jim yelling around!

I like a few Rolling Stones tracks(Paint it Black, Mother's Little Helper) even though I don't care for most of the rest.
