Sometimes I do listen to the 90s commercial alternative pop/rock also. But I think it's like a nostalgia more than anything. That was the time when I started to get into music, and MTV wasn't as bad as it is now.

As for today artists, I do like the last three Red Hod Chili Pepper's albums, I don't think they are better than their first though, but I do enjoy those records, and listen to them once in a while.

Would we call that Steel City Shoegaze? In fact, yeah, I think they did a good job of keeping the shoegaze sound fresh despite the fact that they came in right at the tailend of its populatiry and most significant releases.
You dig Valley Shoegazers, Southpacific?

Really? That'd be cool. I wonder if they've moved in a new direction.

I think I surprised some people in my car on the way to the Slayer show a few weeks ago. What's wrong with pre-gamin' with Straight, No Chaser?

Checking with the impartial judges who're also not on the Satchmo payroll.....and they agree with Satchmo.....pre-gamin' with DA MONK is never wrong!

Next time drop knowledge on your friends on how Lombardo is one with Jazz and DA MONK.

Well, I guess I might as well throw this out there...I enjoy some stuff by the Killers and Coldplay. Whenever they come on the radio, I almost always leave them on. Every now and then, I even turn them on on iTunes at home (although I don't own any full albums by either, except for Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay, which I have from like seventh grade). For the record, I can't stand the chorus to Somebody Told Me by the Killers, which was actually the main reason I hated them for a long time. Anyway, there it is. No shame. No shame.

Other than that, there's the stuff in the other thread about people being surprised that I listen to rap, hardcore/punk, and the bits of metal that I occasionally put on.
