They were a decent band. Gary Moore's first real gig. The later Skid Row actually bought the name from the orignal band, or more correctly, directly from Moore.

LOL I always thought that even their name was quite lame, and now it turns out they even purchased the rights to it?

BTW Bach has Axl sing a little bit on his new solo album.

I'm into a lot of classic alternative stuff, but I don't like Violent Femmes, They Might Be Giants, Social Distortion, Erasure, and yes, I just can't get into Joy Division, blasphemy , I know

Yes, it's true.

I can appreciate his music to a point, but I just can't get beyond the Don Vliet vocals. If I want to listen to Beefheart, I'll listen to Beefheart.

And yes, I know Vliet has his obvious vocal influences, but it's different...

Agreed, for the most part. Though I don't find his vocals all too bad, I just can't sit through an entire album. That's important for me when considering artists I like or dislike: if they have songs I like, but not albums, I generally don't overly enjoy the artist. Of course, this doesn't apply to the myriad artists (especially Bluesmen) who never released albums.
