Cool An album in 24 hours....

This is pretty awesome, I have to admit. Concept: Create a finished album from writing stage to mix and mastering in a continuous 24 hour period.

They've got over 300 submissions so far, and some of the music isn't bad...it's a fun listen, in any case.

I'm thinking of giving it a try, actually...put that improv love to good use.

it's an interesting concept but i think i'd rather try the zen arcade challenge. 3 whole days and a minimum of quality applied (to the point where you're proud to call it an album without having to use the duration of the creative period as a qualitative element). just farting out songs to say you created an 'album' in a day just to say you did doesn't really amount to much in the long run. just proves that you can create throw away music. how many submissions did tom7 dump on there?

it's still a pretty cool idea though. although i think if you're going to place finite limits, focusing on the best song one can create as opposed to an album over the course of a day would yield far better results on the whole.

I agree with Pan, seems kind of pretentious - not to mention dubious.

Considering RM's White Men Can't Funk aka The Procrastinators haven't been able to even finish one song in 10 months and counting....wishful thinking comes to mind.

Hey, I did my part. It's not my fault no one who plays a lead instrument ever recorded everything.

well Project168 has had 3 similar projects like this, but instead of 24 hours, it gives the people exactly one week to make an ep or an lp. Our own Michael Keaton has put out a couple albums there as Coppice Halifax and Milieu (both are listed under Coppice Halifax).
