Thumbs up The Brian Setzer Orchestra's New Album

The Brian Setzer Orchestra is coming out with a new album called "Wolfgang's Big Night Out", which drops September 25th. It's a Brian Setzer-izing of some very popular classical pieces by some infamous composers. You have the opportunity to check out some of the songs from the album, by either going to my street team's page (www.myspace.com/bsoteammendelssohn) or to the Brian Setzer Orchestra's myspace page (www.myspace.com/bsowolfgang). I would really like to know what your vibe is for this new album, so take a listen and let me know what you think

The links don't seem to work.

I'm not a big BSO fan myself. Although I'm a huge stray cats fan, and love Brian's solo work alot. (Rockabilly riot, ignition,...)

And this stuff should be in the rock thread. Not JAZZ!

Smile Corrected links

The links weren't working due to the parentheses. Here they are again: www.myspace.com/bsoteammendelssohn & www.myspace.com/bsowolfgang

As for the genre that the Brian Setzer Orchestra should be in, that's anyone's guess. We all know that Brian Setzer is a rocker, but the BSO is a big band swing type of band (hence the jazz section of this forum). But the new album is all classical music with a Setzer twist. Brian Setzer really breaks down the barriers between the genres. That's one of the reasons I love his music so much. From rockabilly to big band to classical music, he really does it all.

Check out some songs from the new album and let me know what genre you think it should be in

Brilliant news. I love this guy's playing. His big band stuff has a lot of jazz in it, and a lot of other stuff too.

Like the guy on the Primal Scream record said: "We all know music is music."

My Dad was playing it in the car the other day. I don't get it. Sounds like bad novelty music to me.

It's definitely not classical or jazz no matter how many powdered wigs you show on the cover.
