P.S. Just tell them to give peace a chance.

Yeah, but that might piss off all the Paul die hards...

I think the Personality Cult thing mentioned here is rather ironic as I find Zeppelin to be by far the most nostalgic rock band ever. That is, Zep die hards tend to defend the band almost religiously, more than any other die hards I've ever come across. Is that not the cult of personality? I think it is.

Whenever I think of a personality cult, I think of people like Hitler, Kim Jong-il, and Stalin. I can't help it, I just do.

The three fools of the 21st century will be those who smoke, those unknowledgeable about computers, and those ignorant to music.

He just banned smoking in Pyongyang last month, and or anywhere he happens to be at anytime. Of course, he smoked and drank brandy up until 2000....when he was diagnosed with diabetes. You most likely know he just had bypass surgery in May.

I been through that stage, but never with Led Zeppelin (from what I remember). I remember going through that with "The Beatles" until I grew up and started listening to other music. It took me the longest time to accept that "The Beatles" weren't the best musicians in the world (at least not technically), but were able to write very influential music.

This wasn't because I worshipped John, Paul, George, and Ringo but because I was a fan and deeply admired them. I set my mind to this image and closed it to all outside criticisms for a LONG time; so I can best understand these die-hards. I was a teenager during the 1970s and Led Zeppelin was THE band. They were wonderful on stage and generated so much energy, and I think many fans believed that they were "Gods" of some sort--in the same sense that many Hendrix fans believed he was a "God" himself. I was a fan of Led Zeppelin, mostly because my hippie friends all listened to it, but I don't anymore and that's because I no longer enjoy listening to wild rock n' roll as I did when I was a teenager. I think someone on here posted that Led Zeppelin was all drugs and noise, and I couldn't agree more. That's what it was all about in those days (and to some extent in these days too).

Why would you expect Dixon's name to be mentioned in this television segment about a "B" band being voted above an "A" band by readers of the Melody Makers?

Yep, he was 'changing with the times' I guess.
He's definitely on the outs, not well at all. See what kind of footage we'll get in October during the summit.
