Nine Pound Hammer

I am looking for some bands that sound like Nine Pound Hammer. I found out about this band by playing Tony Hawk: Underground, where they have a song in the playlist titled "Run, Fatboy, Run". I really like all of their songs that I have heard so far, which were all very humorous, and am just looking for other bands with a similar sound. I read somewhere that the genre of this music is called "cowpunk". Thanks in advance everyone.

It actually started back around 1980 in Los Angeles with the group The Gun Club. The Cramps would be the Godfathers.

Hmmm. I never thought of GUN CLUB that way, Satchmo. There's some rockabilly in there for sure, lots of raunchy old blues / garage punk, but never thought of them as cowpunk innovators.

So is Nine Pound Hammer kinda like that song Ten Ton Hammer by Machine Head? I'm thinking probably not... can't say I've ever heard Nine Pound Hammer though...
