There's definitely a prominent "punk" scene, as well as a prominent "indie" scene. But hey, we're the weirdest city in the USA - so there's a little of everything.

Punk is not all power chords, or open chords. Its self taught though, at least in its essence of the sex pistol, ramones, the clash days. what more could you expect? i mean, sometimes it just fucking anarchy. and honestly, besides blues chords, what else is rock unless its a hybrid?
