Favorite 90's Vocalist

Who was your favorite 90's era vocalist?...and why? I'm just listing a few I was discussing with people earlier.

I'd say Chris Cornell was easily the most talented (surprising that his voice lasted even as long as it did), but I personally prefer Eddie Vedder's voice.

I think Eddie Vedder's voice was more distinctive from the others, it is the more recognizable, and the most imitated.

Probably the worst vocalist on that list (maybe tied with Cobain) but I was a huge Chili Peppers fan in the 90's, so I voted for Kiedis.

Mike Patton. I glossed over whoever else was on there until I found his name

I decided to approach it the way panbient did...who I liked the most at the time. I'd probably vote Patton now as well, but at the time I was all about the Layne Stanley. I thought he had to have the creepiest voice in the history of music and I loved it. I also listened to more AIC than anyone else until I started looking deeper into Pearl Jam's music beyond Ten and the singles. Of course, PJ is my favorite "Grunge" era band now and I have to give a nod to Vedder for his originality and distinctiveness of style, even if I'd still rank Stanley above him.

That said, the fact that Reznor's on this list and Maynard isn't is a bit crazy.

(Actually, I'm listening to Maynard w/ AIC 28 Feb 2005 right now )

Yeah...I actually made this thread because I was thinking about Tool, and then I completely forgot him when I typed it up.
