help with the genre
i just started listening to punk music but as i’m new at this i would like to know more about the genre, specially about emo and hardcore, i found them very interesting, and which bands would you recommend me?

i think that would be a very fruitless argument. unless you go to each band/artist's website or something and find how they'd categorize themselves.

there's a lot of arguments and such that involves the words "emo" and "hardcore."
it's a very sensitive subject to some people.
i personally dont care whether or not a band/artist is emo or w/e, to me, it's either, i like it, or i dont.

i just get annoyed at seeing so many new styles hooking onto something-punk or whatever simply because they want to maintain some sort of underground association while competing for shelf space and air time against avril lavinge.

Grasshoppas! You know what bugs Satchmo? It's when I see Punk and Sum 41, Blink 182, Green Day and there ilk even being mentioned in anyting having to do with Punk.
