PA Acoustic
Hello, I am new to the forum and I need some advice on tone adjustments. I have a live show coming up and I run the sound and play guitar. However, the band has recently encorporated songs with acoustic guitar. My acoustic set up is a Dean Markey West Coast Trilogy pickup, and a fender acoustic guitar. I run this through a yamaha 12 channel mixer, with tone seetings: High, Mid High, Mid Low, and Low. I use 2 600watt PAs, a behringer virtualizer, and pumped out through 12" mains with horns. I've been playing with the tone and my acoustic seems to either be washed out, or too pingy. Does anyone have any advice which can help me rock out this live show?
Thanks for your help.

Your options are dependent on the song. If the entire song is acoustic driven it may be worth while to lower everyone else a little bit. If possible get the drummer to switch to hotrods for the song (Those drum sticks that are a bundle of little sticks) to lower stage volume. In terms of eq ing, man I've been there. I've found my way getting an acoustic to stay in the mix is my increasing the treble enough so that it comes through clearly, then I jack the bass to make up for any shrillness, if need be I'll play with the mid to compensate for either the bass or treble which ever needs it most. I hope this helps.
