I know I'm probably going to break a rule here by promoting my own site in this forum, but I thought that given the urgency of the situation, this might be one time when it is warranted.
As many of you probably already know, SaveNetRadio.org is making great progress towards having the new royalty rates overturned, but there is the very real possibility that they won't be able to get congress to act in time to meet the deadline that's just two weeks away now.
In case that happens, I wanted broadcasters to have a contingency plan that they could fall back on, other than closing their doors forever. With that in mind, I just finished throwing together a website where artists, labels, and broadcasters can agree on terms to allow them make an even trade of promotion and web links in exchange for the right to royalty free broadcasting of participating members.
The site is at http://www.freenetradio.org and I'm hoping that I can get your opinions on the idea.
It's been quite a while now without sleep, so if you like the idea, please help promote it by telling a few friends, or even better, writing to an artist/label/broadcaster and urging them to sign up.
