Well, it's all over and done with.

Here's an article.

And a rather long, often bland, but interesting interview with Page:

I will admit that the only reason I went was because of the horde and I wasn't expecting much (especially after all the other reunions).....I don't care how old they currently happen to be, but they more than held their own.

I will get around to a a more detailed Satchmo review when I have more time, but the Blue Skies await; however, to hold you over.

P.S. It just dawned on me that on January 9th it will be 39-years (as in, longer than all of you have been probably been alive ) since I first saw them live at the Filmore West in the first of a 4 night stand there.....3-months before Satchmo turned 6 or 66 in Little Buddy years.

As in, their 12th through 15th performances in the U.S.. Their first record would be released on January 12th. I have now seen them 26 times....which includes all the other reunions over the years.

P.P.S. When you look over and see some guy by the name of James Paul McCartney giving you the thumbs up....

Typo correction alert.

I just noticed and corrected the amount of times that I saw them perform.

This Zeppelin show has appeared on Dime and has currently been grabbed by over 11,000 people. It's all over the net by now and is probably the most downloaded show ever.

Uhm...was Paul Mac's thumbs up directed at you or J.P. Jones?

I finally got a chance to listen to this show. As with any Zep fan, there were song choices I'd have done differently, but overall I was pretty happy with the selection. They transposed any song originally in E or A to D or G, respectively, and left the songs originally in D and G alone (this is too bad; once I caught the pattern I had been looking forward to "Trampled Under Foot" in F and "Kashmir" in C, but oh well). I wonder if they switched guitars for songs like "For Your Life" or if Page and Jones just played the songs that were not transposed in a different spot. They might have enjoyed a little more open-string help I suppose The exception to the rule was "Misty Mountain Hop." Other notes on altered keys: "No Quarter" was dropped a half step to C , which was dandy by me because I always wished the original was done in that key (as much as I love the song in C#). "Since I've Been Loving You" was played in C as the original. Any other key would have ruined the song. All this is assuming what I downloaded was indeed the entire show.

From what I heard Plant's voice is about as good as it has been recently. I mean let's face it: there is a reason no one expected them to open with "The Immigrant Song." It needed some time to warm up for sure...it seemed to get much better as the songs played on. Jason Bonham was good on drums. I never thought to myself "man he is fucking up the song" or anything like that. All in all I think it would have been a very special night for the people who attended.

Of course it will become somewhat less special if they do go on tour; as of yesterday I learned they are going to headline a festival in Tennessee this summer and are contemplating more shows as well.
