Taylor or Martin?

I bought myself a new acoustic yesterday, and ultimately my price range and preference brought me to either the Taylor 110 or the equivilent entry level Martin. I struggled with the choice for a couple hours, eventually I went with the Taylor. So, my question is, in this forums collective experience, are there "Taylor people" and "Martin people" in the same way that there are "Gibson people" and "Fender people" for electrics (I played some acoustic Gibsons, they were all crap, no matter how pricey they got)? If so, which are you? Martin or Taylor, or some other make (Breedlove, for example was narrowly squeezed out of my final two)?

I got a Tanglewood recently and it practically plays itself. It's a beauty.

I am one of the "HTF? does it sound" people.

I may or may not have:

Harmony Sovereign
Gibson J-200
Martin D28

and several cutoms.

For a beginner with limited funds....

Epiphone DR-100
Fender DG-7

For someone with a bit more funds....

There probably are people who get hung up on the name brand. I don't know. I have played many great acoustics and I think it really comes down to what feels good to you and sounds good to you.

That being said, there is a martin d16 in my future. It just does it for me.

i second that. my friend, who owns both a taylor and a martin, says they're both great. one is better in some areas than the other.

I may or may not have 27 guitars one of which may or may not be a Taylor...and I say it comes down to your impression of feel and sound too.

I definitely agree with this as well. Great guitars at a moderate to low price point.

I thought this was limited to a discussion about acoustic guitars we may or may not have and not the overall amount of guitars we may or may not have.

I may or may not have been reading very well at the time that I may or may not have been posting
