It's been covered a great many times....for example.

U2 throughout their Joshua Tree Tour.

Led Zeppelin by way of the Peanuts.

Elvis w/ some changes to the lyrics for his film Viva Las Vegas.

Then there is the smash-up version with Snoop Dog.

The Stones, Doors, Humble Pie, Sex Pistols, and Iggy Pop are among others who also covered it.

P.S. Eddie was paid $82.50 for the three-hour session.

I dig pretty much all of the artists mentioned so far..

But I have to throw the Everly Brothers and Rick Nelson into the mix.

If you want horrifying covers....The Brady Bunch covering American Pie. It has to be heard once in a lifetime, however, it still better than Madonna's version.

Recently discovered Vince Taylor. I can only find the 'Barclay Sessions' wich is a pitty, cos both cd's have bad versions of cochran/vincent/berry/presley songs on it.
The guy isn't that much of a big deal, for a matter of fact, he's just a Gene Vincent copycat, but he did wrote one of my favorite songs: Brand New Cadillac (got famous with the clash-version). Does anybody know wich record contains more of his own material? Did he have more own material?
