new member/album swap?!

Just letting you guys know that I'm the newest member here, glad I found this place.

Punk is my favorite type of music and if any of you want to swap full albums on AIM, that would be awesome. I'm a broke college kid with a bunch of albums and sharing music and actually getting more stuff to listen would be really cool. If anyones interested, just tell me and I'll post my AIM.

I like all types of punk, pre-hardcore pop/punk is probably my favorite (Ramones, Stranglers, Buzzcocks, Zeros, Undertones, Skids, etc.), but it's all good.

Honestly, to me, this post reads like your a narc (AKA RIAA cronie)

Have you heard of the program bit torrent? There is a good site I'm a member of called the traders den which has awesome unreleased material there (dvds, live shows, all sorts of random goodies). http://www.thetradersden.org/

There are other sites that are similar too,

dimeadozen.org is the biggest
archive.org is another really good one (this doesn't require membership or torrents)
http://bt.etree.org/ is another great free torrent site

All of these are legal and have some great music.

If you live on a college campus have you heard of the sharing function in itunes?

I'm sure you've heard of p2p programs too.

Legal? Since you live in the U.S....How did you come to that conclusion? You will probably find that outside of the Archive those other sites are hosted oustside the U.S., so, they might be legal in those countries but not in the U.S.

I wish I was a narc, sounds like a cushy job. I don't like downlad sites because getting full albums is tough and viruses are prevalent. If anyone wants to swap, let me know.

I should have specified that I am referring to the US, I think with downloading music the legality of it only really matters in the US.

But these are bootleg sites which don't distribute official or released material, I thought that you could freely trade that?

Dime's wiki: http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php/Main_Page

off limits: http://wiki.dimeadozen.org/index.php...lowed_Torrents

There is also a list of bands that have asked their stuff not be posted.

Maybe I am wrong, if so then I am sorry for misinforming you and I'll edit out the links.

Well archive.org is live shows, for jambands lots of these are better then studio releases.

I assure you that you won't get viruses from anything I listed, I think you run more of a risk with that by trading through AIM with random people.
