What time period? Can I count people like Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry...y'know, the first wave of true punks? Or are we starting in '77?

You can go further back then that.... Mozart and Beethoven were Punk and Avant-Garde.
Since it appears this thread is about fishing for compliments....why bother?
