Dude! The Kid's 15.... come on ... give him something that he can relate too, not music thats going to get him beaten up and pushed into lockers at school! look i'm not saying that everything you suggested is bad or anything -> i've raided my dads collections and copied half of it !Or that its not essential to listen to them and learn from them and appreciate where the music has come from and where its taken music today...

That wasn't my experience either. Lot's of kids at my high school were into The Beatles and The Doors in 10th grade.

BEN FOLDS FIVE

i'm not sure why this band hasn't been mentionned yet (although i'm sure he's on some list somewhere hehehe) but seriously MM132. check out ben folds or his older band. you like piano based rock, you seem to be looking for something a little more mature and i think this would be right up your alley.

next time you're on a bus and see some 30 year old in dress pants and a button up shirt listening to an ipod pretend it's me. would you really expect the 2 of you to share a lot of musical ground? you're listening to the music that's targetted specifically for your age group and there's nothing wrong with that. but there is something wrong (and creepy) with a 30 year old still keeping up and relating to music targetted to people half their age.
