Microtonal Composers?

Yes, this is probably a "Satchmo call for help", but I figure Roivas might want to chime in as well. Or maybe Blah, if he ever comes back from the abyss.

Basically, I need more. I've run out of Partch and Branca is limited, so any suggestions would be welcome.

Actually, there's probably a good deal of material in my collection that's actually microtonal and I just can't tell/wasn't aware of it, but in any case, I can't remember any others at the moment, so...help please.

Those who have written either exclusively microtonal compositions or have works using it.

Charles Ives
Iannis Xenakis
György Ligeti
John Cage
Edgar VarÄ?se
Joe Maneri
Brian Ferneyhough
Jean-Etienne Marie
Lou Harrison
Ezra Sims
James Tenney
Alain Bancquart
Karlheinz Stockhausen
Ivan Vïshnegradsky
Eivind Groven
Ivor Darreg
Ben Johnston
Julián Carrillo
Bruce Mather
Pascale Criton
Manfred Stahnke

Black Flag used it and the Syzygys have even put out two recordings using Partch's 43-tone scale....and Aphex Twin has also used it. Some of Robert Johnson's singing and guitar playing is microtonal.

That should keep you busy....there're of course others, however, I will leave those for Grasshoppa Roivas so he doesn't feel left out.

I figured. A good deal I was already listening to. And a nice chunk I wasn't.

Thanks, Satch.

Edit: and Josh.

Alois Haba has some lovely microtonal music for chamber groups. There's a nice three disc Supraphon recording available.

Scelsi is another one. An entire piece is often contained within the range of a whole-step.
