I actually got alot of my sources from the metaleater.com and metaltravelguide.com sites. I'm still adding festivals from metaltravelguide.com (its a long list), but some didn't qualify for this list because of the amount of bands/type of bands/etc.

I'll make sure to check out the other ones. Thanks!

I just got back from this one. Three days of chaos, and not even having a clue what sober means.

As usual I saw just a few bands:

Friday: I saw nothing. Too much beer. Too much weed. Too many nice chica's.

Saturday:

Spoiler NYC: The band of Life of Agony's bassplayer. Melodic hardcore punk. A little too poppy for me now and then.

Tiamat: They surprised me. Just a few guys playing great music. Not too much show, just rock and roll. The little trip I took was perfect for this gig.

Life of agony: Best live show ever! I've seen them 4 or 5 times before, but this time they had a solid, strong sound. Keith wasn't even too stoned too sing. His voice was excellent, and he proved to be a great frontman. They played 1 song of Ugly, one of Soul Searching Sun, one of Broken Valley, and almost every song (not stain remains and words & music) from their debut album River Runs Red. Which was awesome since that's their best album. Great show. Really enjoyed it. Fabulous pit as well.

Korn: sucked.

Iron Maiden: Great as usual. Too many new songs, but Bruce said they're coming back too Belgium next year with the sequal of their early years project, too much bigger place. Only one place bigger: Werchter. We'll see.

Sunday:

Black Label Society: great show. Zakk is one hell of a guitarplayer!

El Guapo Stunteam: my favorite belgian band. Very solid. Awesome gig.

Oceans of sadness: well yeah.. it was ok I guess.

Slayer: not good at all. Worst show I ever saw of them.

Ozzy Osbourne: I thought Jason Newsted played bass here? Ozzy should have been buried ages ago.

Sorry if you guys expected black and doom metal reviews, but I can't stand being in a tent with all those "carnival"metallers. Why the fuck does a normal straight guy wants to use fucking make-up?

Anyway, I had a blast! LOA ruled the festival.
