Jazz Fest New Orleans

Jazz Fest in New Orleans began last weekend and continues this weekend.

If you've never been, it's about a lot more than jazz--headliners included acts as diverse as Ludacris, Jill Scott, and Brad Paisley, George Thorogood, etc.

I took a ton of pics last week, and I've got 'em in two groups.

The first group of galleries treat JF as an event, and have lots of pics of food, crowds, interesting people in addition to musical acts:
People watching + music galleries

If you just want to see musicians, here:
Musician-only galleries

I'll be out again this weekend. Headliners include ZZ Top, Counting Crows, Better than Ezra, John Mayer, Joss Stone, John Legend, Steely Dan, Harry Connick Jr, etc. Weather permitting, more pics to come.

There is nothing like a Jazz Festival that barely has any Jazz involved.

You've got a good point--it's official name is the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival, but it has evolved into a more general kind of fest.

But it's not true to say there's barely any jazz involved. They have 11 stages running simultaneously, and at any one time, two or three of the stages feature jazz acts. By my count 17 of 67 acts on the first day were jazz acts.
