lol, true: a thought provoking question followed by a plug

Humoring the intro; I'd say music is basically about connection. Whether it be lyrically or musically, it comes down to what makes you feel something. To my ears; some songs don't even need lyrics...the rises and falls are so captivating that they work without coherent vocals. Other songs have lyrics that are so true to life that I forgive flat melodies or rehashed chord structures.

At the end of the day, it's what moves you. I know a lot of musicians, and many of them are doing it for the wrong reason: they love the scene, the stature, the attention. The ones who are great feel compelled to express themselves musically, and everything else comes second.
