Ex-NECROPHAGIST Drummer Says His Replacement 'Plays Circles Around Me' - Mar. 19, 2007
NECROPHAGIST drummer Hannes Grossman, who played on the German death metal band's last album, "Epitaph" (2004), and took part in all touring activities following its release, has commented on his decision to leave the group following the the band's appearance at the California Metalfest on April 1. He said, "I'm not a band member anymore, because I quit the band. I cannot do the full-time touring scedule. I'm doing the rest of the Euro tour dates 'til March 14th [and the California Metalfest] and then I'm out. But you guys don't need to grieve, I'll keep on playing drums of course and you'll definitely hear of me in the future.
"For NECROPHAGIST we found a replacement. I can't tell you the name but this guy (you all probably know him) plays circles around me!! Seriously, he's 10 times better than I am. So the new NECRO album will be the best drum recording done in extreme metal so far. 'Epitaph' will sound like kindergarten compared to the new stuff. So look forward to the new album, guys. I'll do some extreme stuff in the near future too. It's all good the way things go."
(Thanks: Andrew Jacobs / Mutiny)
