Their album, 'Balaklava', is a folk psych classic. Gentle, other-worldly. I need to spring for the 'Complete ESP Disc Recordings' (2005) which pairs up Balaklava with 'One Nation Underground'. I'd like to hear this music in its, evidently, painstakingly remastered sonic splendor. Maybe you had to be there, but Pearls before Swine painted some nice imagery. Good music for a glass of beer or wine, a taste of herb and a beanbag chair.

I am only familiar with their album "One Nation Underground"... What I like about them is they have a unique odd sound to them that takes them out of the pure folk vain and crosses the line into psychedelia... But it is subtle (which is cool)...

I just got Balaklava, it's really mellow and chill which is nice

like Syd said, they're folk but with a bit of psychedelia which makes it different

I am only familiar with "The Jeweler". Back in my teenage years, I had the Warner Bros. "loss leader" 3-album LP set "Looney Tunes", and the song happened to be at the end of side 5 (I think). I liked it a lot. I've heard snippets of other songs by Pearls, and didn't find them all that impressive.
