I guess it does loose steam but I got quite a bit of play out of it regardless. Oddly enough Kilo is fucking addictive.
I need to check out Brother Ali cause he is another Rock The Bells artist I don't know.

The album has a "don't call it a comeback" feel to me since E-40 has been out something like 10 years now but it's the freshest thing I've ever heard from him. Not sure if he gets all the credit he deserves on the West Coast considering this is better than anything I've heard from Snoop Dogg in years. I plan on checking some of his early stuff soon to se what I've missed.

Just saw this thread. I can assure you, if you live in or near the SF bay area, you'd have been hearing Tell Me When To Go five or so times a day for the past year, coming from people who couldn't even sing you the chorus from Gin and Juice. At least as far as it goes up here in NorCal, Snoop Dogg is seen as a media icon much more than a rapper (which is basically what he's been for ten or so years anywhere), while people listen to E-40 for actual music. Then again, no one* really listens to E-40 in their spare time, they just listen to him for going dumb and ghostriding the whip.
*High school students, that is

I fell out of the hiphop groove a little bit, which is why I haven't been posting all that much in this sub-forum, but I've checked a few things out. I finally got around to trying out more Herbaliser which was really fun.
His albums are marked for the fantastic beats/sampling that often has jazz elements thrown in. He has some solid vocal guests, but its more of a sound appreciation than lyrics.
Blow your Headphones was solid, but more importantly fun!
The Herbaliser - Blow Your Headphones (1997)
Other Herbaliser albums to check out:
The Herbaliser - Take London (2005)
The Herbaliser - Something Wicked This Way Comes (2003)
-----------------
I also checked out Timbalands new album Timbaland Presents Shock Value which is just a collection of catchy hooks each trying to be the next big club song. Some are cool sounding dance songs, but nothing of artistic worth.

Damn Herbaliser sounds cool, you think Blow Your Headphones is the place to start?
I agree with you on Timbaland, big disappointment to me.
I finally got around to listening to some Beatnuts and started with Musical Massacre. It sounds exactly like east coast hip hop from 1999 but the beats are a bit more creative and keep the songs interesting.
As far as lyrics go, they've got the same energy as redman but with half the humor, not bad but not great either.

Hm... I don't know if there's any particular order that would be better... but out of the three Blow Your Headphones has a more raw sound, whereas Take London has a nicer finish on the production.
Give Take London a whirl
