I can't seem to read anything off that site.

I wouldn't be surprised if CNN butchered up the interview, I thought that was a well known fact that new companies constantly "edit" interviews. I know they obvious reason to do it because of time, but of course its to get their point across and make the whole thing more dramatic and interesting.

My thoughts on what I think to be the general subject of this. Rap that is being played on the radio is shit and does promote general stupidity. People need to realize that just like any other popular music genre this doesn't represent the entire story.

sometimes the truth hurts.

the only thing JB forgot is that the corona has to be flowing from a bottle of cristal so it looks pricier. same as the lamborghini being a rental with a honda engine.

Don't forget the rented jewerly and that the producers and those they sample music from generally make more money than the rappers.

eh, im split on this topic.

in one way, hiphop and rap CAN influence (the easily persuaded) into violent or illegal acts, (gang violence, drugs, etc), since a majority of rap can be based on those subjects.

But on the other hand, rap is in a lot of ways art, and takes a lot of skill to be able to make beats/rhymes/record, and 99% of the time it blows people away how it sounds.

I wouldn't go along calling it poison, but i can see where they are coming from.

by the way, new the to forums, sup.

Personally, I've never bought the idea that certain media influences people to be a certain way. If music, movies, games, books, etc. influence someone to go commit violent crime (or anything for that matter), that individual is mentally unstable from the get go. We hear of people hearing voices telling them to do things, so should we blame our ears? It is in the minds of people who are initially sick.

How often do we hear of people going out to love the next person they meet due to watching the latest Jennifer Aniston romantic-comedy sap-fest? I'm sure some mentally ill people do it, but it's not very news worthy, is it?
