Cool James Blunt on Oprah..

Yeah James Blunt, the man behind the album"Beautiful" is now the talk of guys in London. He was on Oprah a few weeks ago talking about his album and music.

Heard he won a certain award in London for that album, but just can't remember. I like his album, particularly the track"beautiful". I was just wondering if he deserves all this populicity he is getting. Not many artiste get to appear on Oprah. What do you think?
Listened to James Blunt with Beautiful
"A great track.."

Well I am not really sure why this is in the rap section, but I'll look past that right now.

My only real exposure to James Blunt was through a TV program that a friend of mine was watching. It was him performing an acoustic set on TV. I watched as much as I could, gave it an honest try, and didn't like what he was hearing.

To me he sounds like a Jeff Buckley wannabe. His songs are boring, tired, and the lyrics are meant to be profound but just strike me as cheesy; his voice is not for me either, it sounds a lot like a gimmick. Its definitely marketable, mostly I think due to the straightforwardness of the lyrics and relate able themes.

Its not that I think he is incredibly terrible, I would just rather listen to something else.

If you are interested I think you should check out Jeff Buckley's Grace LP. The album as a whole is great and you find some very strong songs on it that appeal as singles too. I have what I believe to be all his work and it is all really great, but Grace is like his DSOTM and its a debut at that.

As far as Oprah is concerned, I don't think I've ever seen that show but I just know you can get a car if you sit in the audience.

Do I think James Blunt deserves the publicity? No, but very few people that get publicity deserve it; Paris Hilton anyone? I stopped concerning myself with the spotlight a while ago though.

Hey Just Blaze, I was thinking when I posted this thread here. Its not suppose to be here. But anyway is here already.

James Blunt was a former guide to the qeen of England. Just don't how he made it to the music world. Anyway, he is still a starter. Maybe he will improve. lol..
