Down-Tempo Rock: Sounds Identical to Primitive Radio God's "Standing Outside A..."
What's up everyone...
...a few days ago, I heard a song in a local restaurant (Tampa, FL...USA) that sounded exactly like Primitive Radio Gods' "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand".
I'm tellin' you, I thought that it ABSOLUTELY HAD to be PRG because of how amazingly similar in style it sounded, but after downloading and listening to all of PRG's music, it apparently was not them.
I mean, this song was a spittin' image of PRG's "Standing Outside a Broken..." in that it:
1) Had a nice, slow tempo
2) Had a similar vocal style (soft, and under the breathe male vocals)
3) Had a really melodic and relaxing piano section in the middle of the song
4) And most telling, even had voice samples of what sounded like a soul/jazz singer in it...very similar to the "I've been down-hearted baby" voice sample in PRG's song.
To be honest with you, I heard this song at Kentucky Fried Chicken...lol...so I'm assuming that it had to be a fairly popular artist, and I suspect, by the quality of sound, that it is fairly new.
Anyone have any clue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...as I ABSOLUTELY MUST GET THIS SONG!
...note: I tried to remember the chorus of the song without writing it down, but a mere few hours later, I completely forgot it...ooopsa-daisy. I have a feeling I would recognize it if I saw it, though.
Thanks for your help.

Eureka! I found it! After hours and hours of searching "Primitive Radio Gods" and "similar to" on Google, I found the song!
And the survey said,
Moby - Porcelain
Yay!

Yeah...tell me about it!
In actuality, there are a few songs on the album "Play" by Moby that sound pretty similar...but it was definitely "Porcelain" that I heard at KFC.

Money has a way of changing people's positions or turning a blind eye.
