Quick Clip Editing in Ableton
In Ableton 6, what I want is to be able to edit the start and end positions of the clips (in my case mostly drum breaks), as the clip is playing. I've assigned knobs on my MIDI controller to control the start and end positions of the clip and the loop, but when I move them as the audio clip is playing, there is a lot of latency and the clip goes on for awhile before it starts playing at where I want it to. In other words, the clips are not really being manipulated in real time with proper synchronization. I want to be able to slide the markers around and have it start and stop in perfect timing. I'm sure this is possible because I just watched one of the guys from Telefon Tel Aviv do it in a video at the Ableton site. Anybody know what I have to do?
