Liquid Swords Vs. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
This is not the battle for best Wu-tang solo album (contrary to popular belief as noted by the poll title) but merely just an album vs. album contest, GZA's Liquid Swords against Raekwon's Strictly Built 4 Cuban Linx.
I don't think there is going to be much contest here since Liquid Swords has much more exposure. But I feel these two are pretty equal.
So whats it gonna be?

I consider those two very equal. Do you think these two are definitely the best two solo-Wu-records?

Well I had always thought of Liquid Swords to be hands down the best. The other day my friend informed me that Cuban Linx topped some publications best rap album of all time list so I dug it up out of my collection. I recognize its greatness and I think as an album yes it is probably up there at least in the top 3.
Return to the 36 is great and probably should have been included.
Tical is good but I don't think better then these two. Red & Meth Blackout is good but is that a Wu solo project? I mean Red is in it. Still I don't think it is quite as good as Tical.
Ghostface has some good ones, Supreme Clientele is good and more recently Fish Scale is memorable, but again not better then these two
Uncontrolled Substance I remember being good but I have not heard it in years
Haven't heard Masta Killas solo stuff
RZA as Bobby Digital is good but not as complete as these above two. Ghost Dog was a good soundtrack but not that good. Digital Bullet is pretty memorable.
I probably should have included more albums though... Which were you thinking?

It's weird with me but Tical and ODB's Return are the only ones I think of seperate distinct RZA entities. The other ones blend together in my mind. That might sound bad but really it's very very good. It's like everything RZA touches turns to gold in my mind. It all seems so interconnected and I love it all from Bobby Digital to Gravediggaz to all the solo works to anything with the Wu label.
Still though, I think Tical is my very favorite.

Don't worry. Those two kind of make a pair so it makes sense.

Interestingly enough, I just got these two the other day in the mail. After listening to each one time through, I'd go with Liquid Swords, but that might change upon further listening.
