2006 Music That I'll Care About?
As some of you may be aware, I haven't been listening to a whole lot of music lately -- but I have been getting back into it, slowly. I've finished a handful of records this month and have even purchased a few new ones.
That said, I haven't been paying attention to new releases at all, so I've sort of missed out on 2006 entirely, save the recent releases from Matmos & Ornette, two of my few new purchases. I honestly just don't know what's out there, so I'm asking the knowledgeable folks at Radio Mute who know my tastes, what music from 2006 should I care about?
Any assistance would be appreciated, although my suspicion is that this will turn into a "Satchmo call for help" thread, but maybe not. All parties are welcome to contribute and I will consider any and all suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Here're the two best of 06 posts I made:

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam (this one'll probably grow on me, as all Pearl Jam eventually does)
Bob Dylan - Modern Times
Ghostface Killah - Fish Scale
Jay Dee/J Dilla - Donuts
Tool - 10,000 Days
Van Morrison - Pay the Devil
The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth
The Strokes album is the only bad one on there, the rest were at least a 7/10 or higher.

Both are in order of preference. I know there isn't very much of the really experimental stuff that you like on there, but I think there're at least a few you'd be in to, certainly on the jazz list, anyway.

Well, I listen to (or used to, I suppose, ) nearly every artist on those lists anyway, so there's no worries as to whether I'll like the artist or not.
You know, anything good.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I liked "Girls of Summer" by Aerosmith, even though mainly because of the video.

P.S. Have you actually caught up to 2005 to be concerned with 2006?
You have been holed up a good time now, afterall.

That sounds more like this one, to me.

No talking from the ranks!
P.S. The undiscerning mind is like the root of a tree--it absorbs equally all that it touches--even the poison that would kill it.
