Mmmm smell that? Festival lineups!
Well its that time of year again. The time where festival lineups start rolling out. I've realized that there seems to be less of an interest with festivals on here then on other places I discuss musical interest with (Average ages of people here? Lack of interest?); but its always fun thinking who is playing what.
Anyhow Coachella looks excellent, http://www.coachella.com/ , but I can't make it to California in April.
10000 Lakes looks pretty good too, http://www.10klf.com/artists.php . The venue for that also looks a bit more interesting.
I am curious to see what pitchfork media has in mind for their smaller type festival thing. It is much cheaper and in Chicago, a city I have not visited in years.

I would love a good bluesfestival since I am really not up to date on modern blues artists.
Being in Europe now I was thinking I might catch a couple shows, or festivals even, but doesn't look like much is lined up in my area except for a Pink Martini show and Paco De Lucia performance.
Maybe I just don't know how to look that sort of information up.

Here's the lineup for one of the few festivals that I've always wanted to go to (for obvious reasons), but have never been able to make.
I'm seriously considering making the extra effort this year, if only because of the headliner:
NEARfest 2007:
Magma (France)
Hawkwind (England)
Magenta (Wales)
Pure Reason Revolution (England)
La Maschera di Cera (Italy)
NeBeLNeST (France)
Indukti (Poland)
IZZ (United States)
Robert Rich (United States)
Bob Drake (United States)

That looks like a great line up Ween, Jr Brown, Sasha & John Digweed, The Flaming Lips and others would be great.

yeah, Bonnaroo is just 2-3 hours down the road from me actually, but I'm not paying 200+ for that lineup.
Hey Pops, what do you think about James Blood Ulmer being lumped in with everyone there...he seems like an odd one. I'd be cool to see him though.
