Getting on Tom Araya's good side...

I always know what Tom Araya is saying. I try to stay on his good side.

yeah but now haakon cleaned up the thread and he wasn't 'really' spamming. just on a crusade to rid the world of metal in favor of flaccid frat rock. like a musical jehova's witness trying to push their good word on those who could care less.

i think thats cool whoever that was who listened to dmb with that type of diversity. and yes they performed "war pigs" amngst other songs which are great songs. And maybe i can clarify myself: i dont really have anything against metal, theres just some bands that are in the spotlight that should have never been, just like any other genre. This post started when i was listening to a good song and thought i would sow it to people and maybe piss a few off. but "halloween" is good right?

If there is no metal how will we worship Satan? I just don't see curling up with a good Anton LaVey book and listening to DMB. Doesn't work for me.

you got to realize that metal isnt all about the screamer metal as a genre has some of the best guitarist, You can't deny it either with the guitarist such as Steve Vai with metal influence and Muhammed suicmez and the list goes on and on in fact i can name a mindblowing guitarist from almost any sub genre of metal except nu metal of course but if you dont like the screaming than id recommend maybe opeth even though they do have a viscious growl the clean vocals are what grab you. Youll find yourself wondering how one man can make such opposite singing voices

Yeah there is some screaming but is different and you can tell. It beats any screamer song ive ever heard. Read the lyrics along with the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNUqtsGo6O8

The King Diamond version is much, much better.

German Falcon has a good idea for you... try out Opeth. They alternately use growling and normal singing to create contrast in their music.

I personally am not crazy about a song where there's so much screaming or growling that I get a headache, but then again I also don't like pop divas like Mariah Carey doing their own version of screaming until I get a headache... it's all a matter of artistry for me. If it's done well, why not?? If it's done poorly, then it's just not a good metal song... Calling a genre the 'worst' genre is just silly, all it means is you don't like it.
