A Change of Pace

Okay so I know a lot of members here, much like myself, love punk rock music. I mean, what's not to like?

But seriously, it's getting a little stale isn't it? So many bands are losing the edge they once had, and its really ridiculous how long these bands are touring on the same album. I mean, take Senses Fail. They just put out a new album but they're STILL playing stuff from Let it Enfold you at live shows (At least, when they came to DC they did). Its ridiculous.

Well, not too long ago I went to a show...for a band called A Change of Pace.
Now if you haven't heard of them, go here (purevolume) , here(myspace), or here(band website).
The show was amazing. They're so talented and they have such a range within their genre. They have the fast paced punk jams, the slow songs for sad times, and the songs you can do nothing but kick ass to. They came together in 2003, and have been playing ever since. In 2005, they released their first album, which is a lot different than their newest album which they released mid 2006 in my opinion. Anyway, both are great cd's and I think anyone who likes music should get them.
Listened to A Change Of Pace with The Thin Red Line

what?

how can you say that?
I mean, assuming you've listened to more than one song, there's no way you can call them generic.

I just listened to all of their songs on their myspace page and I haven't really heard anything that is ground breaking. I would describe them as a middle of the road commercial rock band. I haven't heard anything that would make me think punk, and that dance remix is very bad.

well

but that's only their myspace songs
and the dance remix is a joke
try The Thin Red Line, it was on Masters of Horror
by far some of their best work, breaking more into screamo

You know who these bands remind me of? Rick Springfield. I'm not joking. I think that Jessie's Girl song is a kind of forefather for 'alternative rock'. I don't hate this stuff. I like a catchy pop song as much as the next guy. I guess there's elements of punk in there. Not exactly like The Unsane's first record but whatever. Remember the Green Day verses Fugazi stuff? Oh man I'm in trouble.

All you're missing tonight is a Tom Waits is a fake post, and you will have all your bases covered.
