Robert Fripp and Mark Knopfler were both apparently left-handed till their guitar teachers made them learn it the other way round.

Good gawd! I can't believe Knopfler was left-handed!

I think that once you know this, you can kind of tell that it's true. If you watch Fripp or Knopfler playing, although they're damn fine players both, they don't look as entirely comfortable with the guitar as most good players do. There's an awkwardness about their physical positioning. It's perhaps an unfair comparison, but look at how comfortable someone like Hendrix looked with a guitar - you hardly notice his guitars are the wrong way round!

Yea that's right, except it was the wrong way round!
