Best of 2006
It had to be done.
Bit of a boring year of music for me overall, but with some pretty sharp releases too.

Agree with it being a poor year (obviously depending on your taste of music...)
But can think of some fine releases, will edit on more if I can.
Håkan Hellström - Nåt gammalt, nåt nytt, nåt lånat, nåt blått
Mando Diao - Ode To Ochrasy
Anna Ternheim - Separation Road
Hm, that's all I could think of right now. Allthough there's more.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk's Brotherman in the Fatherland is the best album I've heard that came out this year. Of those that were actually recorded this year, I would go with TV on the Radio's Return to Cookie Mountain.

I've had better years musically, but that's for the most part my fault. I've been busy with other things, and I didn't have the internet for much of the year. Still, there are some albums that have met or exceeded my expectations. A couple of pleasant surprises, as well. A lot of metal in here, I see...
Venom - Metal Black
Slayer - Christ Illusion
Stolen Babies - There Be Squabbles Ahead
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance
Broadcast - The Future Crayon
Azam Ali - Elysium For The Brave
Tom Waits - Orphans - Brawlers, Bawlers, and Bastards
Thom Yorke - The Eraser

Bruce Springsteen - The Seeger Sessions
The Caravans - No Mercy
I also liked Jerry Lee Lewis' Last Man Standing alot.
